Freakin' awesome., November 11, 2007By M. Baker "OmegaM1A1" (Sweet Insanity, CA USA) I bought Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 for use in a game called Humans vs. Zombies and although we haven't started
playing yet, I HAVE been playing with the gun. It doesn't jam as much as other people might say it does (just make sure to load everything properly and with strength, if you don't load everything all the way it won't work right), and it's really fun. The little pistol thing on the front is pretty useless as far as nerf guns go, but as an accuracy increaser it's pretty good. Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 has a longer range than most other nerf guns I know, however it's not really accurate, and I would rather have one 12 round magazine than two 6's.It's a fun gun, however. The scope is also useless and it's easier to aim using the scope rail and the front "sight". It also appears as if a strap can be mounted to the gun.The darts are a special kind and are more expensive than the normal nerf dart, which won't work in Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6.Overall, though, It's a lot of fun. I've ran and then dove into the grass with the gun and it didn't get damaged.Another upside to it is that it's easy to modify -- There's no glue or anything in the gun, just screws. To upgrade the strength all you need to do is remove the air limiter and put a new/another spring in there. Springs from AR-15 assault rifles work, or if I am not mistaken, the spring from a toilet paper roll holder might work too, in tandem with the normal spring.
Great nerf gun!, December 8, 2007By Doug Carr "Defiant_Two"I bought Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6, having heard about it on TV and hoping to surprise my neighbors with a big gun, I bought Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 on impulse at Wallyworld. I would recommend buying a spare ammo pack, because 6 bullets in a clip doesn't last long in a firefight. Nevertheless, this thing is COOL. The little detachable gun is an awful gun, but it is accurate up to its about 6 foot range. The scope aims high, and putting the little gun on the front takes away range and accuracy. But take off both of those and you have the best Nerf gun ever. You really can shoot up to 30 feet accurately, and it shoots FAST compared to other Nerf guns. Plus not having to put in a new bullet every time helps. The gun does jam sometimes, just pull back the bolt, open the little slidey thing under the scope mount, and pull out the bullet. Overall, a great gun. Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6
Review from mom and son, December 25, 2007A Kid's ReviewI got Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 for Christmas, I am 10 yrs old. This is a great gun. It is easy for me to use. the scope is worthless though. It shoots far and fast. I can load the old nerf darts into the front gun, but not into the clip. I have lost 2 of the 12 darts already (1st day I had it).Review from mom: It was definitely not as expensive at walmart than listed here! wow. It was a little weird to put together. My 4yr old and my 10 yr old love Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6. (my husband too!) Seems pretty durable. The darts do jam frequently for the kids, but the tips in other reviews here are helpful. The scope keeps falling off and is a bit 'off'. The front gun doesn't use a clip..just load one dart at a time. My 4 yr old can actually cock this one..other nerf guns he has some trouble. The darts for the clip are already getting torn up from the clip so I hope we can find replacements (i worry from the other review). Anyway, the kids love it and I recommend this a lot.
